Skin and Bones

And why am I so lonely so suddenly? I’ve gone 19 years basically on my own. Why now? 

Because now I know the shiver your finger tips ignite up my spine. My lips know what it feels like to be pursued against yours. My hand knows the warmth of another’s. My future was brightened with hope of being shared. 

And now I am left without, wandering, seeking. They say I’m still young and, sure, I believe them. But without another to guard my skin, time ticks away at my bones.
